Jastrzębia Góra
This village lies on an elevated part of the Baltic coast. Unique cliffs separate Jastrzębia Góra from a beautiful beach which encourages everyone to take a sun bath and a sea bath. The first mention of Jastrzębia Góra comes from 1848, and its growth as a holiday resort occurred in the inter-war period. After the war, the existing villas and pensions were joined by holday hotels. Some stand near the picturesque 33 metre-high cliff In 1938 the construction of the "Światowid" beach lift was started. Interrupted by war the project was completed in 1966. Regrettably, after five years of operation the lift went out of order, and strong winds destroyed it completely in the early 1980s
The ravine called "Lisi Jar" is an extremely attractive place, as it is overgrown by very interesting and lush vegetation. An exciting story is connected with this place. According to tradition it was in Lisi Jar that King Sigismund III Vasa landed after his unsuccessful attempt to seize the Swedish throne. Count Aleksander de Rosset, the prewar owner of Lisi Jar had an obelisk erected at this place to commemorate that event (if actual historical event it was).
